Ash padded alongside the brook. She could smell cats here. Maybe they would take care of her. It was two days since she had been abandoned. She knew she couldn't last too much longer on her own. But these cats could be friendly and take care of her...

Morningstar continued padding alongside the Brook on patrol, when she caught scent of another cat. She raised her head and scented the air. It wasn't one of her Clan, it was unfamiliar to her. A kittypet? A Rouge? Either one, it wasn't allowed on BrookClan territory. Morninstar braced herself briefly before appearing out of the bushes that line the Brook. She was confused at first, she didn't see anyone except a kit, but then she realized that the intruder was the kit. Morningstar let her fur lay flat and she relaxed, padding over to the kit. "Hello, who are you?" she asked in a gentle tone. "I'm Morningstar, leader of this Clan."

Silvermist padded behind Morningstar, and was confused when she tensed. Silvermist scented the air and found another scent. She followed Morningstar through the bushes and saw the kit. Silvermist flashed a look of sympathy for the kit in her ice blue eyes, why was it alone out here?

"Um, hi," Ash squeaked. "I'm all alone with no one to take care of me. Will you?" Wow! That came out weird! But maybe her being a kit might make them feel a little more sympathetic to her than if she was full grown. I guess being young does have it's advantages, she thought. But she then realized that if she had been full grown, she would be able to take care of herself.

"Your all alone?" Morningstar asked. "Where are your parents?"

Silvermist sat down a bit away listening to the conversation.

(All I could think of. >.<)

"I don't really know," Ash mewed. "They went hunting two days ago and never came back. I don't know whether they died or abandoned me. Please, could you help me?"

"Sure we will," Silvermist mewed, padding up to them with a questioning look at her leader as if asking permission to speak. Morningstar blinked approvingly at her and she continued. "We'll take you back to camp, at least. Then its up to Morningstar and her deputy." Silvermist had a soft spot for kits, she had always wanted her own, but had never found the right mate.

"I don't think there is much to discuss, but I will talk to Talonclaw. Come, now, and we'll take you to camp." Morningstar got to her paws and flicked her tail for a signal to her Warriors to follow. Silvermist nudged the kit gently in the direction they were heading, but stayed behind to walk with it. "What is your name?" she asked the kit.

"Oh! Call me Ash," she mewed. As Ash followed the cats back to their camp, she noticed that the terrain was filled with creeks. The cats also looked sleek and well fed. Perhaps these brooks were were providing lots of prey.

Ash sniffed the cats. She could smell more cat-scent on them. They must live in a group with others, she thought.

"How come you live in a group?" she asked. "I've never lived with other cats except for my parents." Now that topic was back in her head. Why had they left her? What had happened to them?

Silvermist continued padding on, but she looked down at the small kit. "Nice to meet you, Ash," she said happily. "I'm Silvermist. Yes, we do live in a group. Its called a Clan. We live by rules called the Warrior Code, and... well its alot to learn, but you'll know all about it when we get back to the camp. It looks like you're almost old enough to be apprenticed, about another moon or two. I wonder who Morningstar is going to ask to take care of you until then..." she wondered out loud. "One of the rules in the Warrior code is to always obey your leader's order, so whatever Morningstar tells you to do, obey it, okay?" she jumped easily over a branch in her way and continued walking on to the camp.

Streamgush had been padding beside the patrol silently until now.
" Hello my name is Streamgush. Im sorry you parents abondoned you. Dont worry you'll love living here in Brookclan," Streamgush said reassuredly. She saw the entrance to the camp coming up.
